Control freak coupled with overachiever? Bad mix. Actually, to say that I am an overachiever is an understatement. That can kill a body & this semester I had to face facts. I cannot do it all ::cue “Eureka, I’ve got it moment!” – Shumpy jumps out of tub naked and runs through the streets of NYC::

When I was in high school, nerds were NOT cool! If you had any hopes of fitting in with the ‘cool crowd’, you DARE not tell people that you spend hours in front of your computer talking to people you had never met in real life. Playing video games for hours on end was something you kept to yourself and being a fan of ‘cartoons’ and comics would pretty much be the nail in your cool coffin. Nobody knew what ‘LOL’ meant, ‘:)’ was an impossible typo, and the term ‘downloading an mp3′ might as well have been latin. more…

Like any female – I take precautions on-line and in the real world to be safe. We all know the tips: lock your doors, turn on lights, walk in a group, be careful at night and in crowds, but why don’t these tips ever include using technology to keep us safe? Or even using technology to think ahead for a moment where you might be incapacitated?
